ALONE IN THE SEA - I'm alone in the sea But it's not the waters deep It's the vast sea of people The cold darkness that consumes Seemingly vacuous souls As through this world they seep Adrift on their current Fearing I'll never be found Aimlessly, I lack any control And the cold darkness resumes Dreaming about tempting souls Above water but feeling drowned A shiver of sharks are in a frenzy... Feels like they're my only friends... Learning who I can trust during the storms... I guess it all depends... I'm alone in the sea In the endless waves I am lost As they are growing bigger I'm drowning in the disconnection As I take on endless water In the storms of humanity I'm tossed Drowning in the undertow Sinking into the human abyss I have finally accepted my fate Pulled out by the powerful riptide Pulled farther out into the sea Fate sealed with a saltwater kiss - JB, 17SEP2K24

"shiver of sharks are in a frenzy...

Nicely crafted.
Nice John. I’m off to look up vacuous. It’s not often I find a new word.
