I love these moments. I feel fortunate to live on Chesapeake Bay just a few miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean. I can see her from my balcony. My familiar readers know I can see dolphins in the surf pretty frequently.
But this …. this is my church. This is my house of worship. This is where I’m reminded of a higher power, whatever it may be.
And it’s a blessing.
These moments refresh my soul. They remind me to find myself, my calm, in the middle of any storm. I know I have the strength to stand my ground.
I live for the saltwater even on days like this. The winds were blowing. It tried to take off my hat but instead matted my hair and coated my glasses with saltwater and sandblasted my legs. The Atlantic winds even tried to do me a favor and make it look like I had muscles by inflating my Van Hagar shirt.
And it was glorious.
But the Bay can get grumpy with approaching storms. And today was one of those days.
I get really amped and emotional at the beach. I live for the times like these. I often find myself and remind myself that this shared existence is special.
Apologies for talking over a large part of the video!
“Mother Nature and Mother Ocean are a wonderment. We are blessed to exist in this environment. Truly a blessing.” - Me
Yes, I quoted myself ……
I referenced Billy Joel’s This is the Time in the video, so felt the need to include it here.
Someone (can’t remember who) sang this at my HS graduation in 1987.
Yes this shared experience is special.
I graduated in 87 too. I almost forgot about that song. Class song I'm assuming?
