BROKEN HOURGLASS - Shattered shards And splintered wood Scattered far around Leaves me wondering If I lived life like I should These abrasive grains of sand Like time dissipating No more waiting These moments are Disappearing from my hand Ungathered fragments Fractured pieces of time Rather, they drag and torment Cracked, this tortured soul of mine Like we're bitter enemies Father Time and me He's laughing and This endless war rages He taunts and tempts, you see These senseless worn pages My moments are slipping Through his fingers like Those wind-blown grains of sand Do I want to know? How many remain? How many disappearing moments? How many shifting grains? This broken hourglass This fractured timepiece Should have been made Of scratched mirror To truly show my life more clearer A reflection of my time As these fading moments pass - JB, 20JUN2K24
